Pre-Initial changes:
I am putting 400 mm Kalloy seatposts on because I know that the included seatpost is only 350mm which won't be long enough for my wife, and I love the two bolt clamp on this post.
I am also going to switch out the tires as soon as I pull the wheels out of the box, my wife has the Nevegals that came on her OutCast 29 and I ordered a pair of Continental Mountain King 2.4's.
I'll put my favorite Oury grips on mine and I am looking at the Ergon grips, or something similar but cheaper.
Any suggestions? Or questions? I'll try to keep this updated with my impressions and the changes I make on our bikes.

ReplyDeleteErgon GX-1 is worth the money. I was an Oury guy myself, until I tried these bad boys.
Please report back, I'm interested to see if the 2.4" tires fit that frame. I would like to pick up a pair of the mountain kings myself.
ReplyDeleteThe mountain kings fit really well, there is a centimeter of clearance on each side. The mountain king 2.4 is a bit small for a 2.4, but I'm pretty sure you could run a real 2.4 in there. Of course the fork also has plenty of room. The 2.2 Nevegals on my wife's bike have about the same amount of clearance.
ReplyDeleteI put Oury grips on my bike and specialized BG grips on her bike. They are like the Ergon's but a little bit smaller diameter than the small ergons, she claims to not have any wrist problems while riding now!
